Aluminum surface treatment integrated into subsea equipment manufacturing.
Anodizing converts the aluminum surface into an adherent oxide layer that protects components against corrosion and wear in seawater. At BMPTECH, the process is part of the manufacturing cycle for the equipment we design and build, applied according to each part's geometry and function.
Controlled oxide layer
Anodizing grows an aluminum oxide layer from the base metal itself, increasing surface hardness and resistance to corrosion and abrasion. Unlike coatings applied on top, the layer is integral to the part and does not peel, which matters for components exposed to seawater and pressure cycling.
Specified per application
We define anodizing type, layer thickness and sealing based on the component's function: structural parts, electronics housings, moving parts or sealing surfaces. The process is chosen during part design rather than afterward, integrating surface treatment with machining tolerances.
Part of in-house manufacturing
Because we design and machine the equipment at our plant in Guaratiba, Rio de Janeiro, we control anodizing alongside precision machining and assembly. This keeps material traceability and dimensional control from design to delivery, without relying on disconnected external steps.
Field durability
Anodized components last longer in onshore and offshore operation, reducing corrosion-driven intervention frequency and the risk of premature failure in critical parts. The result is lower maintenance cost over the equipment's service life.
