The CP-Probe is BMPTECH's subsea electrochemical potential measurement system, developed for cathodic protection inspection integrated with ROVs.
The CP-Probe, internally designated CPEL METER model BCP-CPEL-001, is a subsea electrochemical potential measurement system developed and manufactured by BMPTECH for cathodic protection (CP) inspection of submerged structures. The package combines a remote voltmeter, graphic display, charger and interchangeable contact or proximity probe tips, covering different measurement geometries in the field. The reading stage uses a 24-bit analog-to-digital converter and high-stability components, delivering up to 6 digits of resolution for reliable protection potential surveys. The probe comes in two constructions: a Delrin (POM) housing, for operation down to 300 meters, and a machined 6AL-4V titanium housing, which takes the equipment to 4,500 meters. Its compact form factor is designed for integration into small ROVs, and the electronics engineering, firmware and manufacturing are developed in-house at BMPTECH, enabling calibration, maintenance and adaptation of the unit throughout its full life cycle. A 6800 mAh lithium battery provides up to 36 hours of continuous operation, and data is transmitted to the surface over RS232, RS422 or RS485 for integration with broader inspection systems.
