A line of connectors and cables developed and manufactured by BMPTECH to remove the most common subsea connection failures: sealing that depends on the operator's hand, time lost on every connection, and assembly error.
The connector is often the weakest link in a subsea system. Not because of the material, but because of how it is connected. The Quick Connector Series was designed around that observation.
In a conventional threaded connector, sealing depends on the torque applied at assembly. Too little leaves a path for water. Too much deforms the sealing ring and marks the contact face, and that damage only shows up on the next dive. Between the two extremes there is a correct range that nobody measures by hand, on deck, wearing gloves, with the vessel moving.
BMPTECH took torque out of the equation. The Quick Connector couples mechanically and locks by position, not by torque: once engaged, it is sealed, and there is no better tightness to chase. The same mechanism cuts connection and disconnection to seconds, against minutes for a threaded connector. On a vehicle with dozens of connection points, that difference shows up in total mobilization and field-swap time.
The third problem is incorrect assembly. The Quick Connector uses a keyed cavity that accepts a single orientation: out of position, the part does not go in. The error stops depending on the attention of whoever is assembling, often under schedule pressure, and becomes physically impossible.
The cable follows the same design criterion. Internal Kevlar takes tensile load to 350 kg, and an anchoring system transfers that load into the connector body rather than the electrical contacts, which is exactly where failure starts when a cable is pulled. A thick polyurethane layer protects against abrasion from contact with structure, guide wire and seabed.
The line covers different mounting arrangements, with straight or 90° angled versions, with or without flange, and 3, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12 pin options. The part code follows the BQC-SRS-XXX series, where XXX is the pin count itself. The body is machined from 6AL-4V titanium, rated to 4,500 meters, and a fiber optic version is also available where distance or bandwidth calls for an optical path. Design and manufacturing are in-house at BMPTECH.
