Bell Electronic Bottle BGE-TMSI-ST1
Power, network and telemetry concentrated at the bell
Electronic bottle installed on the bell, distributing power, concentrating the network and measuring the environment between surface and diver.
The BGE-TMSI-ST1 Electronic Bottle sits on the bell and is the central node of the submerged system. It takes power from the surface unit, distributes that power to peripherals over individual channels, and returns both sensor data and video from the bell cameras to the surface.
Power distribution is channel by channel, with current measurement and independent switching. A faulty peripheral is identified by the channel that left its normal range and switched off on its own, while the others stay in operation and the dive continues. The unit also monitors insulation on the umbilical linking diver to bell and records degradation before it becomes a safety fault.
Communication combines an Ethernet switch, signal multiplexing and demultiplexing, and Ethernet to RS-485 converters, which lets peripherals with different protocols be integrated without extra cable. Depth and temperature sensors deliver the conditions where the bell is positioned in real time.
