Towfish

BMPTECH's Towfish is a camera-equipped towed body, engineered and built for subsea visual inspection, survey and mapping in offshore operations.
The Towfish is towed from the surface vessel and carries an onboard camera that captures imagery of the seabed, pipelines and submerged structures while underway. Its hydrodynamic body holds a stable attitude and depth under tow, even in the presence of currents, reducing the oscillation that degrades image quality along the survey line.
BMPTECH designs and manufactures the Towfish at its Rio de Janeiro facility, with mechanical, electronic and imaging engineering carried out in house. The structure uses high-strength materials machined and treated for the subsea environment, and the architecture allows additional sensors to be integrated to suit each survey scope. Because BMPTECH owns the design, manufacturing and calibration of the unit, it supports the full life cycle, from initial assembly to field maintenance.
